Arunima Sinha - First female amputee(handicapped) to climb Mt. Everest

 Inspirational Story of Arunima Sinha

It is very easy to climb up with the help of ladder and if you already have a ladder it becomes simpler to rise. But, what if you have to build the ladder on your own?

Arunima Sinha, is one such girl who has fought all the odds to rise up and that too not by some existing ladder, but by creating one herself. Arunima  Sinha is a former National level volleyball player who unfortunately lost one of her legs in an unfortunate incident. Arunima was thrown off from a moving train and after the accident she lost one of her legs.

But despite the odds she has created the history. She is the first Indian amputee(handicapped) to successfully conquer Mt. Everest. She managed to reach 8,848 metre high on the world's highest peak. Arunima successfully reached the 6,622 metre high Mount Chhamser Kangri of Ladakh but she had a determination to reach Mt. Everest.During Arunima's days in the hospital after the unlucky incident, she was not happy to see her family members worried; and that moment she decided to achieve something unbeatable and she proved herself. As per Arunima's words, her brother and coach inspired all the time.As per the reporter, she said that her life from the railway track to Mt. Everest has been one of struggle. Bachendri Pal and Tata Steel believed in her at a time when she couldn't even walk properly.

Climbing up the Mt. Everest was a challenging task. Her artificial leg was very unstable on the ice and she had to be more careful with her wounds. But her will power made her achieve her dreams. Then, she had made her decision; she contacted Bachendri Pal, the First Indian Women to climb Mt. Everest and received training under her camp of Tata Steel Adventure Foundation(TSAF).

Her book"Born again on the mountain" was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in 2014.She was awarded Padma Shri, the 4th highest civilian award of India in 2015.Arunima is now dedicated towards social welfare and she aspires to open a free sports academy for the poor and differently-abled persons. She is also donating all the financial aids she is getting through awards and seminars for the same cause.

We salute the determination, courage and strength displayed by Arunima Sinha despite of so many hurdles.

Moral of the story - "The path from dreams to success does exist.May you have the vision to find it, the courage to get on to it, and perseverance to follow it".

This story teaches us if we have courage and determination then everything can be possible. Just we have to identify our weakness and it should be converted into strengths.
